Rh- Lactoferrin technology summary
1. Product Presentation
Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein produced in animals during lactation. It is a prominent component in the first line of mammalian host defense.
Lactoferrin is a member of the transferrin family of non-heme iron binding proteins, which include transferrin, an iron transporting protein in blood. It exhibits powerful immunomodulating functions. Lactoferrin has displayed inhibitory activity against a number of cancers.
Lactoferrin has also been found to lower blood pressure and cholesterol. Researchers have found that the lactoferrin milk proteins in human mothers’ milk contain cancer-fighting properties that are not present in other animal milk products.
Rh-Lactoferrin is produced in Aspergillus niger var.awamari, a filamentous fungus, and is structurally identical to native human lactoferrin in all material respects, differing only in its glycosylation.

CAS No. - 146897-68-9
2. USE
Lactoferrin belongs to the innate immune system. Apart from its main biological function, namely binding and transport of iron ions, lactoferrin also has antibacterial, antiviral, antiparasitic, catalytic, anti-cancer, and anti-allergic and radioprotecting functions and properties.
