1. INTRODUCTION

Thymidine(TM) is a white or nearly white crystalline powder. It can be dissolved in water, methanol, hot-ethanol, hot-acetone, hot-ethylacetate, pyridine and acetic acid, and slightly dissolved in hot-chloroform. This products should be stored with sealed and dry.

Thymidine is used in the synthesis of anti-AIDS drug, such as Zidovudine and Stavudine, also used in the synthesis antiviral drugs. Besides, thymidine is exported as intermediates. The manufacturers of β-thymidine in china are not many, just NHU and GSL, which usually use chemical synthesis. we understand that NHU company export sales in 2013 was 200 tons.
