Biological catalysis to produce L-homophenylalanine

1. Product presentation

L-homophenylalanine is a kind of non-nature chirality α-amino acid which is an important chiral intermediate to synthetize many medicine and pesticide. It is an important intermediate to synthetize about 20 species of angiotensin-converting enzyme to cure hypertension and congestive heart-failure, such as Benazepril, Quinapril, Ramipril and Lisinopril, etc.

2. Chemical synthesis method

1) Use N-phthaloyl-L-aspartic anhydride as starting material, but the starting material is difficult to purchase.

2) Use glycine ester or glycine ester addition salts as raw material, but this method needs chiral catalyst which is very expensive.

3. Project approach of this technology

Make use of benzene butanone acid to get L- phenylbutyrate acid under the function of aminotransferase.
