Biocatalyst application in Nicotinamide production

1. Product presentation

Niacinamide is white crystal powder, a kind of B clan vitamin (B3). It was widely used as feedstuff, foodstuff and medicament covering 40－50％, 25－30％ and 20－25％ respectively and the total yield is about 25-30 thousand ton in the world market recently. Furthermore, according to the survey the annual requirement increases by 5%.

2. Technology summary

At present, the biocatalyst method has more advanced than chemical method. The biocatalyst method conversion rate is 0.9 ton /1 ton (3-cyanopyridine/Niacinamide), while the chemical method is 0.95/1. Further more, the product is more pure and needs no organic solvent.
